How Old are the Cars for Rental or Hire in Uganda
When you think about renting a car in Uganda multiple questions come into your mind including the rate per day and the age of the vehicle. With this writing I am focusing mainly on the age of vehicles rented out for self-drive in Kampala or other parts of the country. To make it more reliable, I will as well highlight on the car rental prices, where to meet and cars available for any person who would like to hire one for a remarkable ride in the pearl of Africa.
Age of the vehicle is something to consider when you start to plan your road trip. Most car rental companies in Europe and other continents provide latest model cars but for Africa especially Uganda expect to use old model cars. For this country, they mostly use second hand cars from Japan. Operators prefer to rent out 4×4 old model vehicles because there are more durable, strong and easy to fix its mechanical problems. Latest model cars are more electric and the technology used to repair these vehicles is rarely found in Kampala and other parts of Uganda.

There are mostly automatic with a four wheel drive, working air conditioning, good tires, perfect seat belts, spacious cabin for luggage and good lights for night driving. Of all the vehicles, the Toyota Rav 4 is the smallest and it accommodates up to four people including the driver. You can take it for hire at not less than 40 USD per day without fuel.
If you need a highly raised car from the ground and a bit cheap, the 4×4 Land cruiser Prado is the best to have while in Kampala or other areas. Its seating capacity is five people including the driver. It has a spacious cabin for luggage. At 65 USD per day, you have one perfect Prado for yourself drive holiday or with a driver for those who hate driving.
For something that is fancy and more luxurious, the Land cruiser V8 is for you. It impresses clients with its pretty interior facilities. It is stronger but consumes a lot of fuel. It is provided for rental at 80 USD per day without fuel.
If you need a car, you can contact us and choose to take a Rav 4, Land cruiser Prado or the V8 depending on your needs. For those in a group, there is a Toyota Safari Van that takes up to 8 passengers and the coaster bus which takes up to 28 people. The coaster bus is always provided with a driver.
